Join New York Times bestselling author Laurie Frankel for the Jefferson County Library's Annual Huntingford Humanities Lecture. Frankel is the author of three novels: This is How it Always Is, Goodbye for Now, and The Atlas of Love. She writes stories that are sensitive and deeply felt, sending her characters on unanticipated journeys through childrearing and growing up.
Her writing has appeared in many publications, including The New York Times, The Guardian, Publisher’s Weekly, and People Magazine. She was recently named one of the 50 Most Influential Women in Seattle. Frankel lives with her family in Seattle. She is also a baseball fan, a soup maker, a theater lover, a yoga practicer, a comma expert, and a huge reader.
A book signing will follow the presentation, and books will be available for purchase by Imprint Books. This program will be held at Chimacum High School Auditorium, 91 W. Valley Rd, Chimacum.
The Huntingford Humanities Lecture was established in 2001 in memory of Sara L. Huntingford, a long-time supporter of the Jefferson County Library. The Library District was formed in 1978 – due in part to her efforts. As a teacher and mother, Sara understood the importance of opening the door of learning to people who lived in isolated, rural areas. She realized that quality library service was the key to that door.
