Join George and Lee-Alison Sibley as they share their experiences living in Jordan and their unique perspectives on the Middle East. George will discuss the historical background of regional conflicts and his efforts to facilitate dialogue for mutual benefit as he addresses the question: Is peace even possible? Afterward, Lee-Alison will share stories behind her book Jordan’s Jewish Drama Queen and her insights on fostering better relations between Arabs and Jews through education. The evening will wrap up with a Q&A session.

George Sibley was a career diplomat for 34 years, retiring from the Senior Foreign Service in 2022. From 1997-2001 he was the Regional Environmental Officer based in Jordan with a portfolio focusing on Peace Process issues. He traveled frequently to Israel, the West Bank, Gaza, Egypt, and elsewhere in the Middle East, seeking to build bridges and negotiate mutual benefits among parties.

Lee-Alison Sibley was the Head of the Performing Arts Department for four years at the Amman Baccalaureate School, an elite Arab institution where she bridged cultures with her students. She earned Master's Degrees in Music and Education, using both in her almost forty years of overseas experience.
