Program Description

Event Details

Jefferson County will host an evening workshop to share information about urban regulations that’ll come into effect once the sewer is complete,

More information about the sewer is available online at: https://www.co.jefferson.wa.us/1158/Port-Hadlock-Wastewater-System

As part of these workshops, property owners and those interested in developing missing middle housing will identify barriers to constructing multifamily housing that are compatible with the surroundings. Missing middle housing is typically defined as a range of multi-family housing units compatible in scale and form with detached single-family homes designed to blend into the existing community. These housing types are designed to ensure a walkable, bikeable neighborhood that’s safe for eight and eighty-year-olds.  Several of the goals of these meetings are to: (1) ensure that more housing is available, (2) that some of the new housing is affordable to the range of incomes prevalent within Jefferson County, and (3) that property owners/developers identify barriers to development so staff may update the zoning code by removing barriers if possible.

A review of the urban regulations effective once the phase 1 sewer project is complete will be focused on the first workshop. The parallel goal is to ensure that many of the area’s new community members know what to expect in the future.
