What does it mean to persevere through difficult times? Teens ages 11-18 are invited to join writer and educator Gloria Muhammad to learn about processing your experiences through poetry.
When we're surrounded by challenges, it’s important to check in to our emotions and find a way to redirect them. Using swimming as a metaphor, explore what it means to persevere. What do your "strokes" look like when life is challenging? What does perseverance look like to you? How do you carry on and endure during hard times while maintaining strength and purpose?
Gloria Muhammad is a writer, educator, and teaching artist. She has experience as a paraeducator, a tutor for college students, and as a former high school coach for the annual Louder than a Bomb poetry slam hosted by Write253 in Tacoma, WA. Her mission: to use writing as a tool to facilitate spaces for healing and personal growth.
