What can you do with computer science and programming skills once you've learned them? Meet with three professional programmers to ask questions, receive inspiration, and explore the real-world programming skills needed in today’s workforce. This workshop is designed for adults and teens age 13 and over.

Hour of Code takes place each year during Computer Science Education Week. This introduction to computer science is designed to demystify "code", and show that anybody can learn coding basics. For more information visit Hour of Code.

The Professionals:

Dane Schoonover — Founder and lead developer of Yaatly, an application that powers online speech and debate tournaments, Dane works primarily in the JavaScript framework Angular.

Kiyota Sage — A jack-of-all-trades, Kiyota is an independent contractor who codes on a number of popular web and app platforms including React, Gatsby, and Electron. He also performs design work and does amazing jump kicks!

Cameron Andrews — You may remember Cameron from Whistle Stop Toys, working behind the counter or running Magic the Gathering game nights. He currently works as a front-end developer at Harmonic Northwest.
